We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been just like you. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). This implies that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After cigarette smoking nearly continually when the depression set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of individuals would disrupt me now, and say that many ladies at house do what I do, stop and chat with the other females. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her husband and is in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some beginners. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself.
