This indicates that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continually when the anxiety embeded in, I began to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that the majority of females at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other females. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage children. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
