We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. We have a no smoking policy in our house, imposed on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. After smoking cigarettes nearly continuously when the anxiety embeded in, I started to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of individuals who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that most females in your home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't know the half of it all. I think it's time I gave you a total image of our street and the people who reside on it. It will come in beneficial later on. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She recently separated from her hubby and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Of course, whenever I talked to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City. I never ever spoke with him, although what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
