We have a no smoking policy in our home, enforced on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This implies that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continuously when the anxiety set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of individuals would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of females at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other ladies. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She recently separated from her other half and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City. I never ever talked to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
