We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had actually been similar to you. Triggering to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to make with the day instead of what my neighbours would depend on. I signed up with the ranks of the long-lasting ill, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The first few weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little tasks that accumulate done. Then in the 3rd week, a malaise began to sneak in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, enforced on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses throughout the street. I began to choose up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past your home. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of women in the house do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't know the half of everything. I think it's time I offered you a complete image of our street and the people who live on it. It will come in beneficial later on. It's a extremely small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her hubby and remains in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Naturally, whenever I spoke to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never spoke with him, even though what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
