We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had actually been much like you. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to make with the day rather than what my neighbours would depend on. Then, I established a problem with my knee. A semi-serious issue. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might stroll, run, and climb, but it did stop me from driving, which in turn stopped me from working. I signed up with the ranks of the long-lasting ill, continued to receive my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The very first couple of weeks were great I. managed to get all the little jobs that pile up done. In the third week, a despair started to creep in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our house, enforced on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 houses throughout the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of individuals would disrupt me now, and say that the majority of women at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her husband and is in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some beginners. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I talked to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never ever spoke to him, even though what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
