All of us accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. I joined the ranks of the long-term ill, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The first few weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little jobs that pile up done. Then in the third week, a despair started to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, enforced on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses throughout the street. I began to select up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that most women in your home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
