The very first couple of weeks were great I. managed to get all the little jobs that pile up done. Then in the third week, a malaise began to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, enforced on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses throughout the street. I began to choose up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that most women at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other females. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
