After cigarette smoking almost continuously when the depression embeded in, I began to discover the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of females at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other ladies. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this website is the removed house where Steve and Mandy deal with their 2 teenage boys. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
