All of us support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had actually been just like you. The first few weeks were great I. managed to get all the little tasks that accumulate done. Then in the 3rd week, a despair started to creep in. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, implemented on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After smoking practically constantly when the depression embeded in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of females at house do what I do, stop and chat with the other ladies. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. She recently separated from her partner and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City. I never talked to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
