November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of ladies at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
