After cigarette smoking almost continuously when the depression set in, I started to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past your home. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that most ladies in your home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have two replies. Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
