We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been much like you. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to finish with the day instead of what my neighbours would be up to. I developed a problem with my knee. A semi-serious problem. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I could walk, run, and climb, but it did stop me from driving, which in turn stopped me from working. I joined the ranks of the long-lasting ill, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it simple. The first couple of weeks were great I. managed to get all the little tasks that accumulate done. In the third week, a despair began to sneak in. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, enforced on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This suggests that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. After cigarette smoking nearly constantly when the depression set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that many women in your home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have two replies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her partner and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time.
