We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd thought. After smoking nearly constantly when the anxiety set in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and state that many ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not understand the half of it all. I think it's time I gave you a complete image of our street and the people who survive on it. It will can be found in beneficial in the future. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
