We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a 2nd idea. After smoking almost constantly when the anxiety embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would interrupt me now, and say that the majority of women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other ladies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this website is the detached house where Steve and Mandy cope with their two teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
