Then in the third week, a despair started to creep in. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, enforced on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two homes throughout the street. I started to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past your house. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and state that a lot of ladies at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
