We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. After smoking cigarettes nearly continually when the depression embeded in, I began to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past your house. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and say that most ladies in your home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't understand the half of it all. I believe it's time I gave you a total photo of our street and individuals who reside on it. It will come in beneficial in the future. It's a extremely small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this website is the separated house where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
