With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
