We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. After cigarette smoking practically continually when the anxiety set in, I began to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that many ladies at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other females. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her husband and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and papa Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. I never spoke with him, even though what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
