We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a reservation. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had actually been similar to you. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to make with the day rather than what my neighbours would depend on. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might stroll, run, and climb, but it did stop me from driving, which in turn stopped me from working. I signed up with the ranks of the long-lasting sick, continued to receive my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The first couple of weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little tasks that pile up done. In the 3rd week, a despair started to sneak in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, enforced on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses throughout the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that many women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not know the half of it all. I think it's time I gave you a total picture of our street and individuals who survive on it. It will come in beneficial later on. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She recently separated from her husband and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City. I never talked to him, even though what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
