With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and say that the majority of women in the house do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. It's a extremely small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
