After smoking cigarettes nearly continuously when the depression set in, I began to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat.
