We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would interrupt me now, and state that many females at house do what I do, stop and talk with the other females. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
