We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd thought. I started to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past your house. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that many females at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not understand the half of everything. I think it's time I gave you a total photo of our street and the people who live on it. It will come in helpful later. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this website is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
