We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd idea. After smoking almost continuously when the depression embeded in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past your house. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and state that many women at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't know the half of it all. I believe it's time I offered you a total photo of our street and the people who survive on it. It will can be found in helpful later. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
