We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, imposed on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. After cigarette smoking practically continuously when the depression set in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of individuals who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that many ladies in your home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't know the half of it all. I believe it's time I gave you a complete photo of our street and individuals who live on it. It will be available in helpful later. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
