We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second idea. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that the majority of women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you do not understand the half of it all. I think it's time I gave you a complete image of our street and the people who reside on it. It will come in helpful in the future. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her other half and is in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some beginners. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke with them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City. I never ever spoke to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
