We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a 2nd idea. After smoking cigarettes almost continuously when the depression embeded in, I started to discover the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of women at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not know the half of all of it. I believe it's time I gave you a total photo of our street and individuals who survive on it. It will can be found in beneficial later. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her partner and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never ever spoke with him, even though what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
