All of us go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, imposed on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking practically continually when the anxiety embeded in, I began to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who walk past the home. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would disrupt me now, and say that a lot of females at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her other half and is in the process of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself.
