We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd idea. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. After smoking practically continually when the anxiety set in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that most females at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't know the half of all of it. It's a extremely little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her husband and remains in the process of moving. I never ever spoke to him, even though what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I mention him.
