This suggests that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking almost constantly when the anxiety set in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and say that most females in the house do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies.
