We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, enforced on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This implies that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes nearly constantly when the depression embeded in, I began to discover the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past your home. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that the majority of females in your home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her hubby and is in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. I never ever talked to him, even though what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
