After smoking nearly continually when the depression set in, I began to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who walk past the home. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that many females at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.
