We all accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been just like you. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our home, imposed on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This suggests that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. After smoking almost constantly when the depression embeded in, I began to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your home. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that many females at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't understand the half of it all. I think it's time I gave you a total image of our street and the people who survive on it. It will come in beneficial in the future. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
