We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many individuals would interrupt me now, and state that many females at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other females. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her husband and is in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke to them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City. I never ever talked to him, although what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
