We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, implemented on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost continually when the depression set in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past your home. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and state that many ladies at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies.
