We all accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had been much like you. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking practically continuously when the depression embeded in, I began to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your house. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and state that most females in the house do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not understand the half of it all. I think it's time I offered you a complete image of our street and the people who reside on it. It will come in useful later on. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
