With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of women at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
