I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, enforced on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. I began to choose up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and state that the majority of women at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
