We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had actually been much like you. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might stroll, run, and climb, but it did stop me from driving, and that in turn stopped me from working. I joined the ranks of the long-term ill, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The first few weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little tasks that pile up done. Then in the 3rd week, a despair started to sneak in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, imposed on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes nearly continually when the anxiety embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past your house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that the majority of ladies at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her other half and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Of course, whenever I spoke with them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never ever talked to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
