From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After smoking nearly continuously when the depression set in, I started to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past your house. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of females in the house do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have two replies. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
