We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a 2nd thought. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking almost constantly when the depression embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of women at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other females. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
