We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up till September, I had been just like you. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After smoking nearly constantly when the anxiety set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
