We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, imposed on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two homes across the street. After cigarette smoking nearly constantly when the depression embeded in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that many ladies in the house do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
