We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd idea. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of ladies at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have two replies. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy deal with their two teenage sons. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She recently separated from her partner and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time.
