We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a second idea. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that most ladies at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other females. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this website is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
