We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, enforced on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes nearly continuously when the depression set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most individuals would interrupt me now, and say that many ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her husband and remains in the process of moving.
