We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a reservation. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had actually been just like you. The very first few weeks were great I. managed to get all the little tasks that pile up done. In the 3rd week, a malaise started to sneak in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our home, implemented on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). This suggests that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes nearly continuously when the depression embeded in, I began to discover the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that most ladies in your home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her other half and is in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and papa Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I talked to them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my understanding. I never talked to him, although what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
