From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After cigarette smoking nearly constantly when the depression set in, I started to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of individuals would disrupt me now, and state that many females at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other females.
