With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that most women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. It's a extremely little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her spouse and remains in the process of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time.
