This implies that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost continually when the depression set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past your home. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and state that many women at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't understand the half of everything. I believe it's time I gave you a complete image of our street and individuals who live on it. It will come in beneficial in the future. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
