From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes nearly continuously when the anxiety embeded in, I started to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this website is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
