We have a no smoking policy in our home, enforced on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After cigarette smoking practically continuously when the depression set in, I began to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the home. On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. She recently separated from her husband and remains in the process of moving.
