We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past your home. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that many females at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't know the half of it all. I believe it's time I offered you a complete image of our street and individuals who live on it. It will come in beneficial later on. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
