We have a no smoking policy in our house, implemented on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This implies that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continuously when the depression embeded in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most individuals would interrupt me now, and state that most females at house do what I do, stop and talk with the other females. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her hubby and is in the process of moving.
