We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a 2nd thought. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. After smoking cigarettes almost continuously when the anxiety set in, I started to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of individuals who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that most females in your home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. She recently separated from her other half and is in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and papa Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Of course, whenever I talked to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City. I never spoke to him, although what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
