From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking almost constantly when the depression embeded in, I started to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that most females at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other women.
