We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a 2nd idea. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, implemented on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost continuously when the depression embeded in, I began to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past your house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that most women in your home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't understand the half of it all. I think it's time I gave you a total picture of our street and individuals who live on it. It will come in beneficial later. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
