After smoking practically continuously when the anxiety set in, I began to see the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who walk past the home. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
