After cigarette smoking nearly continuously when the anxiety embeded in, I began to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that most ladies at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other ladies. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this website is the detached house where Steve and Mandy deal with their 2 teenage sons. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her partner and is in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time.
